The 15 technical questions buyers most often ask, answered originally from a process engineer's perspective. The answers aim to "give a conclusion + give a basis," rather than restate marketing copy.

1. Is your 99% filtration efficiency "absolute" or "nominal"?

[Industry Knowledge] It depends on the particle-size basis. This site's data uses absolute rating with a stated particle size — oil filter >=90% @ 20um, fuel filter >=95% @ 10um, air filter >=99.0% (ISO 5011 test dust). A bare "99%" without stating particle size / method cannot be compared horizontally.

2. What is the actual difference between nano media and ordinary cellulose media?

[Editorial Opinion] The difference is in the efficiency–differential pressure balance point. Nano-fiber relies on a fine surface filtration layer to achieve higher efficiency at lower initial differential pressure (hy-af-nano >=99.5% vs. cellulose >=99.0%), while the coarse base paper supports dust holding capacity. The cost is higher; it suits dusty, demanding conditions, not all scenarios need nano.

3. Why is your oil filter precision 20 µm and not finer?

[Industry Knowledge] The oil filter sits on the main oil gallery; excessive restriction raises bypass valve opening frequency and affects oil-pressure buildup. The 20 µm tier is the balance point for passenger oil filters; finer precision is the fuel filter's job (10 µm) — different categories protect different objects, and precision is not finer-is-better.

4. What is the bypass valve opening pressure? Can it be calibrated?

[Industry Knowledge] Bypass valve opening pressure is a key safety parameter that must match the vehicle's oil pump and be calibrated on a dedicated bench. Specific values are subject to the data site's calibrated parameters; you may request the bypass valve calibration record at purchasing.

5. Is your steel housing one-piece drawn or welded-bottom?

[Industry Knowledge] The housings of spin-on oil filters / fuel filters on this site are all one-piece drawn, seamless, with pressure resistance and fatigue resistance superior to a welded bottom. This is the watershed of oil filter quality; check the housing for weld seams to judge quickly during inspection.

6. Does the seal ring withstand -40 ℃ low temperature / 150 ℃ high temperature?

[Industry Knowledge] This site's oil filter seal rings are NBR, marked "high/low temp resilient," covering -40 ℃ cold start to +150 ℃ high-temperature operation, accommodating both Russia's extreme cold and the Middle East's extreme heat.

7. Can the diesel filter separate water?

[Industry Knowledge] Water separation depends on the model: hy-ff-water is composite + water separation layer and can separate free water from diesel; hy-ff-spinon/hy-ff-inline are conventional fuel filters. For low-quality diesel / humid regions, choose the water-separating type.

8. What does H13 mean on a cabin filter?

[Framework Reference] H13 is a HEPA grade, meaning a >=99.97% interception rate for 0.3 µm most-penetrating-particle-size (MPPS) particles. This site's hy-cf-hepa is this tier. Note that it differs from the air filter's "ISO 5011 dust efficiency" basis and cannot be compared across categories by number.

9. Will your media collapse or will the pleats stick together?

[Industry Knowledge] The pleating step controls pleat height / pleat pitch / pleat count, and the media is resin-impregnated + heat-set to ensure stiffness. Overly dense pleats sticking together is wasted effective area — a defect to be prevented (see Common Quality Defects and Prevention).

10. Do finished products undergo 100% leak testing?

[Industry Knowledge] Spin-on oil filters and fuel filters undergo inline 100% leak-tightness testing — leakage cannot be seen visually and the consequence is fatal, so it cannot be covered by sampling. This is an iron rule of the oil filter industry; this site's spin-on filters perform full inspection.

11. Do you have IATF 16949 / ISO 9001?

[Framework Reference] This site's data-set certification field lists ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 and other quality management system frameworks, representing the direction of systematic quality control; the specific certificate status is subject to the company's qualification page and formal documents, and this technical site does not claim to hold any certification.

12. What if the air filter won't fit the car? How are dimensions guaranteed?

[Industry Knowledge] Air / cabin filters are "hard dimension" parts; dimensional deviation means returns. This site's dimensions (e.g. hy-af-nano 280×205×45 mm) are identical to the data site, and the production line uses gauges for 100% pass inspection; before ordering, confirm by reverse lookup against the OE number / vehicle model.

13. Any special requirements for export to the Middle East / Russia?

[Framework Reference] The Middle East's high heat and dust demand air filters with high dust holding capacity and high-temperature-resistant seals; Russia's extreme cold demands seal-ring low-temperature rebound and cold-start oil pressure; additionally there are GCC/EAC certification frameworks. See Export Market Standards Differences.

14. How to judge whether a batch is inferior filters?

[Editorial Opinion] Open it up, pinch it by hand, and test it on equipment: check whether the housing is one-piece drawn, pinch the seal ring for rebound, tear the end cap to see whether the media is firmly glued, check the bypass valve opening feel, and see whether the pleats are uniform and not stuck together. Inferior filters save money on end cap adhesive, seal rings, housings, and valve assemblies — the places you cannot see.

15. Why do your quotes differ for the same spec? Is it the media or the process?

[Editorial Opinion] The price difference of filters comes almost entirely from media grade + valve configuration + full-inspection investment: nano/composite media is pricier than cellulose, a full set of anti-drainback/bypass valves is pricier than a stripped-down one, and 100% leak testing is pricier than sampling. A quote difference is not a "profit difference" but a "configuration difference" — align these three items first before discussing price.
